Family Law Attorney Serving Cumberland County
& Greater Harrisburg
Allissa McDonald Myers was drawn to the practice of family law from a young age, shaped by two deeply personal experiences. At age 9, she was adopted—an experience that introduced her not only to the emotional significance of family law but also its legal complexities. Later in life, she watched a family member struggle through a difficult divorce, where inadequate legal representation left a lasting impact. These moments inspired Allissa to pursue a career where she could offer others the compassionate, knowledgeable guidance every family deserves.
While in law school, Allissa served as a Certified Legal Intern at the Temple University Legal Aid Office, providing pro bono legal support to underserved clients. She also interned with Women Against Abuse, a nonprofit organization supporting survivors of domestic violence. There, she prepared legal filings, served as a courtroom advocate, and gained firsthand experience in both Family Court and the Domestic Violence Unit of the Criminal Justice Court.
Her legal career began with an internship under the Honorable Jeffrey D. Wright in the Court of Common Pleas of Lancaster, where she contributed to the development of Lancaster’s Veterans Court. She later worked at Rocco Law in Philadelphia, drafting appellate briefs and sharpening her legal writing under the mentorship of attorney James A. Rocco, Esquire.
After passing the bar, Allissa joined the Law Offices of Jennifer J. Riley in Blue Bell, PA, where she represented clients in family law and civil matters. She counseled clients through complex legal issues, advocated for them in court, and built a reputation for being both strong and supportive—traits she would carry into every phase of her legal career.
Since 2022, Allissa has been serving families throughout central Pennsylvania. Most recently, she practiced as part of the Grace Legal Team, where she continued her mission of guiding clients through some of life’s most challenging moments with empathy and dedication.
Today, Allissa is proud to open her own firm—McDonald Myers Law—based in Cumberland County and serving the Greater Harrisburg area. As the founder of her own practice, she brings a personal, hands-on approach to every case, treating clients more like people than case files. For Allissa, the goal is always the same: to help people feel seen, heard, and supported as they navigate the legal system.
Allissa and her husband are proud pet parents to two pit bulls and one grumpy black cat. When she’s not in court or meeting with clients, she enjoys cooking for friends and re-watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy on a cozy weekend.
